Runnin' Sin City

Liner Notes: Members of Ironband and several friends enjoyed our first "Rock 'n' Roll Marathon", Vegas-style! While we can't claim that it was our best marathon performance ever, no-doubt influenced by all the pre-race entertainment and (mis)hydration temptations, we can say that running down the strip at night was a truly unique and entertaining experience. Conceived and written on the course in Vegas, as well as in the hotel room, in the bars, and on the flight home, we give you, "Runnin' Sin City".

Runnin' Sin City

Las Vegas, our destination
Jump on the jet with anticipation
Touch down, head to the strip
Cabbie talkin’ bout his lady’s kung fu grip

Carb-load, a little hydration
What am I to do, so much temptation?
Gun blows, off go the pros

Just a marathon, we’ll see how it goes

Another mile, look at the Bellagio
Another band, heard it on the radio
Legs are fading, but I can't complain
'Cause I'm runnin' Sin City, 26 and change

Mile four, neon lights
Runnin’ down the strip to the cheers at night
Mile seven, where could he be?
Must be another OG VIP

19 miles, he’s speaking in tongues
While I’m seein’ stars and workin’ my lungs
Back on the strip, finish not far
Get my damned metal, head straight for the bar

Another mile, look at the Bellagio
Another band, heard it on the radio
Legs are fading, but I can't complain
'Cause I'm runnin' Sin City, 26 and change

Another mile, suckin' down the atmostphere
Another band, rockin' by the Stratosphere
Legs are fading, but I can't complain
'Cause I'm runnin' Sin City, 26 and change

I'm dodging traffic, hookers and winos
Thinkin' 'bout a dance at the Spearmint Rhino

Another mile, look at the Bellagio
Another band, heard it on the radio
Legs are fading, but I can't complain
'Cause I'm runnin' Sin City, 26 and change

Another mile, suckin' down the atmostphere
Another band, rockin' by the Stratosphere
Legs are fading, but I can't complain
'Cause I'm runnin' Sin City, 26 and change
