Members of Team WMS are capping off the season in an epic way with a journey around the world in December to compete in one of the most beautiful and well-respected triathlons in the world. The Laguna Phuket Triathlon has been drawing rave reviews, and the world’s top pros, since its inaugural race in 1993 and the 2009 edition of this race will be no exception.
Having traveled to Phuket before I can tell you that it is truly a land of smiles, of friendly people, of incredible food, of beautiful scenery, and of a travel value that exceeds anything that I’ve experienced in other parts of the world. The Thai people go out of their way to ensure that your stay is enjoyable and they are eager to teach you about their country, their food, and their culture. We are excited to be competing in this event for the first time and we have no doubt that it will live up to the high standards for which the event is now known throughout international triathlon circles.
“I have been returning to the Laguna Phuket Triathlon now for 6 years and it is without a doubt my favourite race of the year. Phuket holds a very special place in my heart as I have spent a great deal of time training and racing here. It is simply the most amazing place and the people of Phuket are the most welcoming and warm people. The race just seems to get bigger and better every year and I am already very excited to be returning yet again to participate in this truely fantastic event.”

2008 Ironman Malaysia Champion
