Ironman Germany – Latest Update

Hard to believe but race day is less than 2 ½ weeks away. Travel plans are being firmed up and I think we have finally figured out how to transport the bikes and where we can store them after the race so a little Euro site seeing can take place. Taper is always so hard because you feel like you should be training so you don’t lose your edge but deep down you know that rest is the most important thing right now….

Since the last update, our crew has been reduced. Sarah is not going to be able to make the trip and Heather broke a bone in her foot a few weeks ago doing the Hospital Hill half marathon in Kansas City. I’m sure she will be elaborating in a future article. We are all pulling for her to recover quickly and hopefully still be able to race.

The trash talk amongst the boys has heated up in a big way. Race predictions are all over the board right now with guestimated times backed up by uber spreadsheets….the sandbagging has already started and so have the performance excuses…. We will have to see who gets it right.

Until the next update –

auf Wiedersehen
