Congratulations Kansas City Triathlon Participants!
by on May 4, 2010 in General Triathlon

Congratulations to everyone who placed, acheived a personal record, or finished their first triathlon yesterday at the 2010 Kansas City Triathlon. Joe Company and Pip Taylor won the men’s and women’s divisions and numerous locals and friends took home hardware in the age-group divisions in both the sprint and Olympic distance races. Congratulations to you all!

A special congratulations goes out to pro Pip Taylor for her impressive finish and also for her sense of humor when Ironband re-dedicated one of their hit singles, “I Don’t Mind (Bein’ Passed by a Chick)”, in her honor for the weekend. The honorary version, “I Don’t Mind (Bein’ Passed by Pip)” was a hit, though we’re not sure how accurate the song really is since Pip never passed anybody during the race…she didn’t need to since she came out of the water several minutes before anyone else and never looked back!

It was nice to meet Pip and we wish her well in Lawerence in a couple of weeks when she takes on a tough field at the 2010 K-Swiss Ironman Kansas 70.3 race

We’ll see the rest of you there as well – we have numerous people racing and also a few who will be providing some special entertainment on the course – stay tuned!
