Welcome to the home of Ironband, the world's most enigmatic running, cycling, and triathlon rock band

The long-awaited release, "Gotta Get to Kona," is here. Touching on racing-related themes across numerous musical genres, this album is a must-have for any dedicated endurance sports athlete. All songs were written during races, during recovery from races, on long international flights, in bars, and in the shower, and performed and recorded by the band in a variety of basements and questionable venues.

Laguna Phuket Triathlon & Thailand

We're back from a whirlwind trip through Thailand to compete in the world-renowned Laguna Phuket Triathlon. It's easy to see why so many pros make this event a regular stop on their race schedule; beautiful beaches, incredible food, friendly people, and a challenging and well-run race that would please even the most well-traveled international triathletes. What's not to like?

Sure, if you're from the US you spend at least 18 hours each way just in flight time, but once you arrive in the "Land of Smiles" you feel yourself quickly shift down into a more relaxed and peaceful state. And I'm not just talking about when the masseuse on the beach has you twisted up like a pretzel each morning. Beyond the beautiful seascapes and intoxicating food, the race itself is both a formidable challenge and scenic tour of the island of Phuket. This year marked was the 16th running of the Phuket Triathlon and it will only get more interesting next year as the Laguna Phuket complex hosts the Asia-Pacific Ironman 70.3 World Championship race that will held at the same location just one week after the Phuket triathlon. What a week that's going to be in Phuket for some of the world's best triathletes.

Germany's Jan Frodeno, the Olympic gold-medallist in triathlon at the 2008 Beijing games, took home top honors on the men's side while setting a new course record. On the women's side Radka Vodickova of the Czech Republic took home top honors. Mike capitalized on his Ironman Arizona training to finish the tough course in a respectable 3:17:25 while David, spending just a bit more on the course taking in the beautiful scenery, came across the finish line in 4:06:40.
